Manage Scenarios

PLANNING tab > select Project Title

Scenario is a separate instance of your project data. You can create scenarios and compare them against each other. This allows you to make hypothetical changes to your project budget and timeline without losing the work on your original project version. From the main project screen, select the Manage Scenarios option to begin creating new scenarios.

Create a New Scenario

To create a new scenario enter a Title and Description in the new blank/new scenario section and select the Clone Official option. This will create a new scenario using the data from the current official scenario:

Clone a Scenario

To clone/copy an existing scenario, select the Clone option on any of the scenarios:

Load a Scenario

If you want to load a scenario so you make changes to the data, select the Load option. You can then navigate back to the main project page and make updates to any of the project details:

Delete a Scenario

If you no longer need a scenario, you can select the Delete option to remove a scenario from the list. Once a scenario is deleted, it cannot be recovered. You cannot delete the official version of your project.

Compare Scenarios

To compare two scenarios, take the following steps:

  1. Select the first scenario you want to compare.
  2. Select the second scenario you want to compare
  3. Select the Compare option.

This will display both scenarios in a side-by-side format so you can easily review and compare the data:

Make a Scenario Official

When you make a scenario Official, it will become the version of your project that is eventually submitted for approval. You can switch back and forth between which scenario should be the official working copy by selecting the Make Official option on the scenario:
